It’s official — a new Pickleball Club season is here!
Join us for our Transition Meeting as we kick off another year of pickleball, share important Club updates and give you a look at everything we have planned for the season ahead.
PLEASE COME EARLY!
Registration opens at 4:15 PM, and we are expecting a long check-in line with everyone arriving, registering and paying their annual dues.
So please, please don’t wait until 4:55 PM to stroll through the door!
Come early, get checked in, pay your dues, find a seat and catch up with your pickleball friends.
We want to start the meeting promptly at 5:00 PM, and we need everyone’s help to make that happen.
If everybody arrives at 4:55…
Well, our 5:00 meeting is going to have a very different start time.
DON’T FORGET YOUR DUES!
Annual Pickleball Club dues are $40 per person and are due that evening.
Please come prepared to pay your $40 dues by Zelle, cash, or check at check-in.
Because nothing says “Welcome back to another year of pickleball” quite like…
“Great to see you! That’ll be $40.”
GUESTS ARE WELCOME!
Guests are welcome to attend, but the cost is $20 per guest.
If your guest plans to attend all of our meetings and enjoy dinner each time, they may want to do the math. After attending just a few meetings, it may be more economical for them to become a Club member for $40 rather than continuing to pay the $20 guest fee.
In other words…
If they’re coming for the food, fun and pickleball fellowship all season, membership may be the better deal!
AFTER THE MEETING…WE EAT!
Up in Smoke will be catering dinner immediately following the meeting.
After the meeting, the Club will also provide beer, wine and soft drinks up to our predetermined limit.
Once we hit that limit, the Club tab is closed and you’re buying your own.
Well drinks are not included and are at your own expense.
So basically…
We’ll feed you.
We’ll get you started on beer, wine and soft drinks.
After that, your wallet is officially back in the game.

SIGN-UPS OPEN OCTOBER 26th, AT 10:00 AM!
Set your alarm, mark your calendar, tell Alexa, write it on your refrigerator — whatever it takes. Sign-ups open Monday, October 26th at 10:00 AM.
Space is limited, and knowing our Polo Club players, waiting until 10:07 may be considered living dangerously.
HOW IT WORKS
Our Interclub Social Matches bring players from two clubs together for some friendly competition, new partners, new opponents, and a whole lot of pickleball.
And yes, we said friendly. Save the questionable line calls for Open Play.
Each participating club will bring 8–16 players, with an even number working best. Teams can include any combination of women and men, and matches can also be set up as all-women or all-men.
Before the match, the Match Director will work with each Club Captain to get a general ranking/seeding of the players.
Don’t panic — nobody is getting a report card.
The rankings simply help us create competitive, evenly matched games so everyone has a great time.
EVERY PLAYER PLAYS 5 GAMES
Game 1: Interclub Women’s Doubles & Men’s Doubles
Game 2: Interclub Mixed Doubles
Game 3: Interclub Mixed Doubles
Game 4: Club vs. Club Women’s Doubles & Men’s Doubles
Game 5: Club vs. Club Mixed Doubles
For the first three Interclub games, players from the two clubs will be paired together as doubles partners.
That means the person across the net from you in one game could be standing next to you in the next — so maybe hold off on arguing about that line call.
Games 4 and 5 bring everyone back to their respective clubs for a little Trilogy vs. Citrus competition and bragging rights.
All games will be seeded as closely as possible to create fun and competitive matchups.
And because apparently five regular games aren't enough excitement, we may occasionally toss in an MLP-style Rally Scoring game just to keep everyone on their toes.
If the rosters aren't perfectly balanced between men and women, no problem. We'll make adjustments as needed, so come prepared to be a little flexible.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Five games. New partners. New opponents. Friendly competition. Lots of laughs.
Come ready to play, meet some new people, represent Trilogy, and have a great time.
And remember: after the match, you still have to play with these people again. Behave accordingly.

The action starts at 11:00 AM, but we strongly recommend arriving early because…
PANCAKES!
That’s right. Pancakes will be served starting at 10:00 AM.
Because apparently, the secret to winning at pickleball is carbs.
JOHN JAQUES IS IN CHARGE!
John Jaques will be heading up the fun activities for our Club and has promised a few twists and turns along the way.
Exactly what those twists and turns are…
Well, John knows.
The rest of us will apparently find out when it’s too late to escape.
Expect some fun, some surprises, some friendly competition and probably a few moments where you’ll wonder why you agreed to this.

HOSTING TRILOGY GUESTS?
NOVEMBER 7th & 8th
For those of you who are housing Trilogy guests for the November 7th and 8th weekend, I’ll be reaching out to you directly.
We’re planning a meet-and-greet on the evening of November 7th so everyone can get acquainted before the big pickleball showdown.
And yes…everyone in the Club is invited!
There’s just one tiny detail…You’re on your own dime.
The Club will provide the friendship.
The conversation.
The introductions.
The opportunity to meet our Trilogy guests.
Your credit card will provide the rest.
Think of it as a warm welcome with a side of “What’s on the menu?”
More details will be coming to those hosting guests, but for now, get ready to welcome our Trilogy friends, show them some great hospitality and make sure they know exactly who they’re dealing with when the paddles come out on Sunday.
Pancakes at 10:00. Pickleball at 11:00. Friendly competition all day.
And remember…
What happens on the pickleball court stays on the pickleball court.
Unless, of course, you win.

Spring Meeting & Taco Truck Night

Open Space Across from the Clubhouse
Join us for our Spring Meeting on Tuesday, April 28 at 5:00 PM. We’ll keep the meeting to one hour or less — short, sweet, and painless. After the meeting, stick around because a taco truck will be on site to feed all of our members.
Guests are welcome for $15 per person (pass-through cost).
What to bring:
Your own chair
Your own beverages
Your appetite
We’ll supply some wine for those who enjoy it, and our social committee will be reaching out about desserts.
Please RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount for food and make sure no one is left staring sadly at an empty taco tray.

Cancer Charity Tournament
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We're teaming up in Partnership with HERE.NOW.FUND for a Cancer Charity Pickleball Tournament right here at The Polo Club Trilogy!
We're expecting 100+players from across the Valley to come battle it out for a great cause (and bragging rights, of course). All donations and sponsorships will go through the Desert Cancer Foundation and will be distributed to three amazing charities.
Now, we'll need a small army of volunteers to help make this event run smoother than a perfect third-shot-drop-so if you can lend a hand, we want you on the team! Next up, grab your doubles and/or mixed doubles partner and get signed up to play-or at least start practicing your victory pose.

Drills & Thrills Clinic with Chiron Burl
THE DETAILS:
Hold onto your paddles, folks — Chiron Burl is coming to town!
He’s a passionate player, coach, and all-around pickleball wizard who’s traded La Cañada for Coachella Valley sunshine — and for one night only, he’s bringing his A-game (and maybe his secret sauce) to Trilogy Polo Club.
Join us for a fast-paced, high-energy Drill Clinic designed to sharpen your skills, fine-tune your mechanics, and remind your legs they still work after that Thanksgiving pie. Whether you’re a 3.5 hero or a 2.5 dreamer, this session is your chance to dink, drill, and laugh your way to better play — all while learning from a pro who’s been in the PPA main draw.
There will be two sessions, one beginning at 5:30pm for 3.25 and up players and a second session at 6:30pm for 2.5-3.24 players.. Signups begin Monday, November 24th at 10AM. Sign up button is below.

Think you know how to swing a paddle? Let’s make sure you can handle the paddles that actually save lives! Join us for a quick and easy AED Defibrillator Training—because you never know when you might need to jump into action and be someone’s hero.
You’ll learn:
How to spot a cardiac emergency
What to do before the pros arrive
How to use our on-site AEDs—yes, they talk to you!
Where all our units are located
Who should come: Everyone who plays, cheers, or just likes to hang out near the courts.
Cost: Free!
Duration: 45–60 minutes (you’ll leave smarter and possibly a little proud of yourself).
No certification, no stress—just good info, great people, and peace of mind.
Annual Meeting & Social
The Annual Polo Club Pickleball meeting will be November 4, 2025 starting promptly at 5pm and the social will start after the meeting hopefully by 6pm. The party will include food from Up in Smoke and one drink ticket per member. We will provide wine until we run out -- beer and well drinks will be available at the CASH ONLY bar at your cost.I
