SHOOTOUT FORMAT
All levels of play from Advanced Beginner to Intermediate/Advanced/Tournament Player can and should participate in the Shootout. The structure of the Shootout will have participants playing only with other players of similar skill, recreational will not be playing with/against advanced players.
· Players will be ranked by skill level from 1 – 32. The top 4 players will be on Court 1; next 4 ranked players on Court 2; continuing to the 4 least experienced players on Court 8. (Don’t worry/fret over the initial ranking. After 1 – 2 rounds players will automatically move up or down based on actual games played results and will be on the proper competitive court).
· The 4 players on each court will play a 3 game round robin on that court (play 1 game with each of the other 3 players). Each game will be played to 11, win by 1. So, 33 maximum points can be scored. The high score player(s) will move up a court and the low score player(s) will move down a court.
· After changing courts based on Round 1, a second 3 game round robin will be played. Based on the Round 2, 3 game score, players will again move up or down a court if they are the high or low score player. Round 3 will then be played on the first day. The court assignment after Round 3 is where the player will start in the Shootout on the 2nd day, when 3 more rounds will be played. So, a total of three Rounds totaling 9 games will be played on each day.
· At the end of 6 Rounds, the top 4 players from courts 1 and 2 based on total points won over the 6 (18 games) rounds will play a 3 game round robin to determine the Polo Club Shootout Men’s and Women’s Gold, Silver and Bronze Club Champions!
