The Kitchen Report: Dec. 14th

Hey Pickleball Family!

Welcome to this week’s Kitchen Report — grab your paddles and your coffee, because we’re diving right in!

Facebook Follies

Apparently our private Polo Club Facebook page has become too popular — friends are inviting friends, and next thing you know, it’s like the Coachella Music Festival of Pickleball. Quick reminder: this page is for club members only, not the entire desert! So before we click “approve,” remember — if they don’t dink, they don’t belong.

Need a new one? Lost yours somewhere between Court 3 and the margarita table? No worries — we’re placing an order soon, so let me know.

Welcome Wagon

We’ve got lots of new members! If you see some unfamiliar faces on the courts, go ahead and introduce yourself — you might just meet your next favorite doubles partner!

Ball-Gate Update

BlueStar has ordered new community balls (they’re on backorder… along with patience). In the meantime, I bought some new Lifetime balls for the club — if you spot something that’s not a Franklin, don’t panic! It’s just me experimenting to see which ones survive more than two games and one temper tantrum.

New Member Orientation

Coming in January — we’ll teach you all the important things: how to sign up, how to dodge incoming balls, and how to blame your partner gracefully.

DINKING IN THE NEW YEAR!

Saturday, January 3 | 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | Stadium Courts

We’re kicking off 2026 the only way pickleballers know how — with laughter, chaos, and way too many dinks! This isn’t your average game. This is three players per team… on the court at once… in a wild, slightly confusing, but ridiculously fun dinking showdown you’ll be talking about until next New Year’s.

If you played in last year’s Dinking Tournament, you know the drill — and if you didn’t, prepare for rules that sound like they were created after one too many mimosas. 🥂

Two divisions

5-game round robin

Top 4 teams advance to the Championship

Teammates will be randomly assigned (so no fighting over who gets the “good” dink partner!)

Spots are limited to 48 daring dinker souls, so don’t wait — sign up at poloclubpickleball.com on December 17th at 10:00 am before the paddles fill up!

Let’s start 2026 the right way… by dinking, laughing, and pretending we totally understand the rules.

That’s a wrap for the print edition of this week's Kitchen Report!

Play hard. Be nice. And for the love of pickleball… stop inviting random people to our Facebook page!
