The Kitchen Report: March 30th

Hello Pickleball family and welcome to this week’s Kitchen Report—

Well… we’ve officially entered the episode titled: “When Pickleball Goes Full Ocean’s 11.”

It’s been brought to my attention that on Saturday late afternoon, approximately seven young, very ambitious gentlemen decided our courts were the perfect place to… audition for a break-in movie. They were out there banging balls around like they were training for Wimbledon, and in the process managed to break a hinge off the storage door—you know, the one that’s locked for a reason. Apparently they thought, “Locked? Challenge accepted.”

Now, credit where credit is due—thanks to one of our awesome club members, who went full Pickleball Patrol, retrieving balls from over the fence and restoring order like the hero we didn’t know we needed. And yes, the paddles did make it back into the storage bin… so we’re calling that a very small win.

But let’s be crystal clear:

This has to stop. Immediately. Our storage areas are not a DIY escape room. They are locked, and that means hands off—no exceptions, no “just curious,” no “we thought it was okay.”

And here’s where I need your help—

If you know who these young men are, please come forward and let me know. This isn’t about getting anyone in trouble—it’s about accountability and making sure it doesn’t happen again. I’ve already filed a complaint with BlueStar, and they are actively looking into this on behalf of the club.

Bottom line:

We’re here to play pickleball—not to star in “Fast & the Pickleball Furious: Storage Wars.” Let’s protect our equipment, respect the space, and keep our courts exactly what they’re meant to be—fun, safe, and hinge-intact.

Rally Tournament Update… and a Mild Recruiting Emergency

We are sitting pretty at 14 teams for the Rally Tournament… which is amazing… but also mildly annoying because we are THIS close to perfection. We just need:

1 fabulous advanced beginner/beginner woman

1 fabulous intermediate woman

That’s it. Two humans. Two paddles. Two good attitudes (we’ll take average attitudes too at this point). Let’s round this out and make it a full house!

That should do it for this week’s Kitchen Report— a little bit of news, a little bit of chaos, and just enough drama to keep things interesting.  Be sure to watch the full report in the video below… because let’s be honest, that’s where I probably say what I really meant.
